2026 marks 60 years of the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Day Parade in Brentwood. This parade represents an act of cultural affirmation in L.I.and it is the largest parade in L.I. The Puerto Rican community has been around for generations. The parade also serves for community integration as it invites new Latin American immigrants to parade with their traditional dances. In 2014 the parade was about to be lost due to a lack of cultural leadership and government support. The community asked us to produce the parade to save this tradition together. Teatro Yerbabruja organizes over 75 dance groups and floats with a participation of 3,000 people parading and an audience of about 30,000.
