Artist Community
Teatro Experimental Yerbabruja has a collective of multicultural/intergenerational and interdisciplinary artists who collaborate regularly at our arts center. Yerbabruja provides creative/performance space such as a dance floor, art studio, multimedia studio and sound equipment. Yerbabruja also collaborates with local and international visiting artists creating spaces for exchange and artist development.
Margarita Espada,MFA, Project Director/Founder of YB: Margarita is a performancer, director, cultural organizer and producer with over 30 years of experience in the arts.
Segundo Orellana, YB Gallery Coordinator: Visual Artist and Muralist from Ecuador. Segundo's art and murals are part of a permanent collection and public art projects on display at Islip Town, Patchogue Village, Patchogue Library, and several downtown restaurants in Long Island, NY.

Mariana Lima, General Coordinator: Mariana is a multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersections of sound healing, jazz, voice, DJing/producing, writing and performance art. She is also a doula working towards supporting women in their journey of creating beautiful birthing experiences through a Reproductive Justice framework lense.
Raquel Rivera, Project coordinator: Raquel is a young writer, painter and fashion designer. She coordinates the New Artists program at YB.
Phillip Baldwin, Multimedia Designer at Stony Brook University: He is a scenographer, designer, author, educator, UX/UI consultant, installation artist, associate professor of design and digital media, and immersive environment designer.
Joan Wozniak, Multimedia Designer at Suffolk Community College: Her work explores the integration of images, projectors, connectors, digital sensors and creating new codes to control interactive technology.
Rosa Lina Lima, MFA Dance: Rosa Lina Lima is a Puerto Rican Contemporary dancer, Dance and French teacher at Puerto Rico University. Her dance experience has been marked by Afro Puerto Rican dance and music, and by her formation with Puerto Rican experimental dance pioneers.
Lia Domingues, Choreographer, Contemporary Dancer & Director of Punto Cero Company (Mexico): Her work explores the relationship between dance and the visual arts. Lia has collaborated virtually with Teatro Yerbabruja since 2019. She is a guest dancer for the NYS Dance Force project at YB.

Karen Mena Lobos, Bachelor of Theatre Performance, Director, Artist Educator, Actress, founder of Company Teatro Calato, Independent Artist (Concon, Chile) Karen is an integrated artist with 17 years of career in acting, dramaturgy, direction and self-managed production, community work and artistic education in educational centers and establishments. Her work has taken her to stages in Belgium, France and now in New York, where she has generated a collaborative work with Teatro Yerbabruja.
Adrina Devers,Writer: Founder of the online project Cuentos de Triadas, which showcases life experiences through videos, using poetry and imagery as the main tool. Works published: poem “la negra del batey'' anthology Mujeres de Palabra, Poética y Antología (2010), poetry book Huellas de una Memoria Perdida (2010); bilingual children’s book Mi Chiquitica en Luna Llena My Little One in Full Moon (2018)
