Annual Art Festival
Our annual art festival exposes diverse audiences of all ages to culturally diverse performing and visual arts. This is a great medium to give local and established artists a chance to share their passion and expand their visibility and following in our Long Island communities. This year, our gathering will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30th, on Suffolk Avenue in downtown Brentwood, beginning at the Brentwood Road/Washington Avenue intersection. Last year's Brentwood Cultural Street Festival attracted an audience of many thousands, as should this year's Festival with its very powerful activities, including the following stage schedule:
11:30-12:15 TRACY HAMILTON DRUM CIRCLE for adults and kids ... bring your own drums/other
percussion instruments such as tambourines, bells, rattles, wood blocks etc.
12:20-1:00 The Peruvian dance ensemble PERU ANDINO, featuring live dancers & musicians.
1:10-2:00 The Haitian ensemble BONGA & THE VODOU DRUMS OF HAITI
2:10-3:00 The salsa etc. orchestra NAPOLEAN REVELS-BEY RHYTHM KINGS.
3:10-4:00 The Puerto Rican bomba & plena ensemble LOS PLENEROS DE LA 21.
4:10-5:00 Colombian jazz phenom EDMAR CASTANEDA & his quartet.
5:10-6:00 BEATLES tribute band THE LIVERPOOL SHUFFLE, returning by popular demand.
